Hello Scotland! This is Mary Catherine and I am looking forward to sharing my experiences from Scottish Interfaith Week with you! #SIFW2016

Hi my name is Mary Catherine O’Reilly-Gindhart and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Glasgow in the department of Theology and Religious Studies. I just moved here to Glasgow from Leuven, Belgium and I am originally from Villanova, Pennsylvania in the United States of America. I am really excited to be an ambassador for Scottish Interfaith Week and to share my experiences with you on this blog.

Religion and faith practice have always been an important part of my life and that is why I also decided to center my career in theology and religious studies. I am a practicing Roman Catholic and have always been intrigued by the faith of others. I have many friends as well as family members that members of many different faiths, organizations and societies. This is my first Scottish Interfaith Week so I am looking forward to meeting new people and represent Interfaith Scotland as an ambassador.

The reason I wanted to join and become an interfaith week ambassador is because I want to get involved with the local religious communities and share my experiences with my new community in the Glasgow area as well as with others. I will be covering the local Glasgow area events as well as others in Edinburgh. I am hoping to meet a lot of new people and share my experiences through social media. I look forward to Scottish Interfaith Week 2016 and sharing my experiences with all of you.
